Texas's Harris County, Pennsylvania to Lead Sellers of Municipal Bonds

(Bloomberg) -- Texas's Harris County and
Pennsylvania are selling a total of about $800 million of bonds
in today's largest debt offerings by U.S. states and
municipalities.

Houston's county government is issuing $425 million of
insured bonds backed by toll-road revenue in a deal managed by
JPMorgan Chase & Co. Pennsylvania, the sixth-most populous
state, is taking bids from investment banks seeking to
underwrite $373 million of general obligation debt.

AIG's new China stx fund raises 7 bln yuan in 1st day

(Reuters) - "The amount raised today is basically in line with our
expectations. We are still optimistic," the official told
Reuters.




Demand for mutual funds in China has cooled a bit in May, as
the domestic stock market set a string of new record highs
despite a series of risk warnings from analysts, economists and
government officials.

Wild Peanuts, Potatoes Are Being Threatened by Climate Change, Study Shows

(Bloomberg) -- Wild relatives of peanuts and potatoes
are increasingly at risk of extinction as a result of climate
change, depriving their cultivated versions of a valuable gene
pool, researchers said.

Over the next 50 years, 61 percent of wild peanut species
and 12 percent of wild potatoes may become extinct as a result of
rising temperatures and changing rainfall patterns, the
Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research said in
a statement today.

Stocks seen higher, eyes on economic data

(Reuters) - "Company data and the earnings season is coming to an end and now we will be looking closer at economic data for impulses," said Giuseppe-Guido Amato, equity strategist at German brokerage Lang & Schwarz.




The Richmond Federal Reserve Bank's manufacturing index is due on Tuesday, but Amato said the market would be more focused on initial jobless claims, durable goods orders and new homes sales which are expected on Thursday.
