Gold up on weak dollar, TOCOM dips on NY

(Reuters) - Gold inched up on Tuesday to track a weaker U.S. dollar, while Tokyo futures fell, reflecting losses in New York's COMEX market and a firm yen.

Spot gold rose slightly to $681.70/682.30 an ounce at 0250 GMT, from $681.00/681.80 late in New York on Monday.

Copper shines, but others turn lower

(Reuters) - Commodity markets were shut on Good Friday.

The May copper contract rallied 12.90 cents, or 3.8 percent, to settle at $3.5060 a lb on the New York Mercantile Exchange's COMEX division, after dealing from an overnight low of $3.3625 to a session peak of $3.5340 -- its priciest since early September.

Gold drops as oil slides, dollar firms

(Reuters) - Spot gold was quoted at $670.90/672.40 an ounce by 2:08 p.m. EDT , after hitting a session-high of $677.80, down from $674.40/674.90 in New York on Thursday.

Most-active gold futures for June delivery on the COMEX division of the New York Mercantile Exchange settled down $2.50 at $676.90 an ounce, traded between $675.60 and $683.10.
