Calpine cuts Calif. Delta natgas unit power output

(Reuters) - The 811 MW Delta station, which entered service in 2002, is located in
Pittsburg in Contra Costa County, about 40 miles east of San Francisco. It
is a combined-cycle plant with three combustion turbines, two 182 MW units
and one 183 MW unit, and one steam turbine of 263 MW.




One MW powers about 700 homes in California.

Delta Air Lines may place $20 bln Boeing order: report

(Reuters) - Delta could not immediately be reached for comment. A spokesman for Boeing, reached at the Paris air show, said the company does not comment on speculation about future orders.

Shell Nigeria tightens security after rebel freed

(Reuters) - Royal Dutch Shell tightened security for staff in Nigeria's anarchic Niger Delta on Friday as a precaution after the release of a prominent rebel leader, security sources said.

Shell told non-essential staff to stay at home and restricted the movement of others because of uncertainty over how Thursday's court decision to free Mujahid Dokubo-Asari on bail would play out in the lawless delta.

FTSE climbs; Qatari stake-build boosts Sainsbury

(Reuters) - Britain's leading share index extended gains on Friday, joining a global stock market rally, with Sainsbury leaping into the lead after a Qatari group raised its stake in the supermarket chain.

Sainsbury jumped 4.8 percent after investment group Delta (Two) Ltd., said it had bought 123 million shares in the British supermarket group at 595 pence per share, boosting its stake in the firm chain to 25 percent.

Nigerian forex reserves rise to $43.4 bln in May

(Reuters) - Nigeria's foreign reserves rose to $43.48 billion in May, versus $43.2 billion a month earlier, thanks to sustained high oil revenues, the central bank said on Wednesday.

Governor Chukwuma Soludo said in a statement that the reserves could cover 25 months of imports, but that disruptions to oil production in the Niger Delta were a risk to reserves growth.

Delta Air Lines reports February profit

(Reuters) - Delta said some of its fuel hedges in February led to a $5 million loss.

The carrier said it ended February with $3.7 billion in cash, cash equivalents and short-term investments, of which $2.7 billion was unrestricted.

UPDATE 2-Delta Air sees profit swing, lower debt

(Reuters) - NEW YORK, March 27 - Delta Air Lines Inc. , which plans to emerge from bankruptcy in late April, said on Tuesday it expects to swing to a profit this year on cost reductions and higher revenue.

It also plans to slash debt and generate billions in cash flow.

Delta Air sees 2007 pretax profit

(Reuters) - Delta, which plans to relist on the stock market in early May, said it expected to reduce net debt to $7.6 billion in 2007, compared with $16.9 billion as of June 30, 2005. The company expects to have a market value of about $10 billion.

Speaking on a Webcast of an investors; meeting, Delta Chief Executive Gerald Grinstein said he hopes the carrier chooses an internal candidate to replace him when he steps down after the company exits bankruptcy.
