Brazilian Stocks Climb on Commodity Demand, Profit Growth: Latin Equity

(Bloomberg) -- Brazil's main stock index rose, led
by materials companies, on speculation that global demand for
metals and oil will boost corporate profits.

The Bovespa Index of the most-traded stocks on the Sao Paulo
exchange headed for a fifth month of gains, rising 507.15, or 0.9
percent, to 55,079.76 as of 11:08 a.m. New York time.

Mexico Bolsa Falls on Growth Concern; America Movil Slips; Petrobras Gains

(Bloomberg) -- Mexican shares fell for a second day on
concern subprime loan losses in the U.S. may signal a further
weakening in the economy that buys 80 percent of Mexican exports
and lead to higher borrowing costs.

Mexico's Bolsa index retreated 286.97, or 0.9 percent, to
31,175.18 as of 3:24 p.m. New York time, led by mobile phone
company America Movil SAB. The Bovespa Index of the most-traded
stocks on the Sao Paulo exchange was little changed.

Brazil Stocks Gain for Week, Led by Vale, on Takeovers in Metals Industry

(Bloomberg) -- Brazil's main stock index headed for a
third week of gains, led by mining company Cia. Vale do Rio Doce,
as rising metals prices and takeover speculation propelled raw
materials stocks.

The Bovespa Index of the most-traded stocks on the Sao Paulo
exchange gained 2.1 percent this week to 57,554.72. Today the index
was little changed, slipping 58.33, or 0.1 percent, from a record
yesterday.

Brazil's Bovespa Gains, Led by Vale, on Nickel Price; America Movil Rises

(Bloomberg) -- Brazil's main stock index gained for
the third time in four days, led by mining company Cia. Vale do Rio
Doce, on speculation that accelerating growth in China will push up
prices for the country's raw materials.

The Bovespa Index of the most-traded stocks on the Sao Paulo
exchange rose 390.68, or 0.7 percent, to 56,273.38 at 2:51 p.m. New
York time. Vale accounted for a quarter of the gain.

exchange rose 145.35, or 0.3 percent, to 54,288.42 as of 10:12 a.m.

Brazilian Stocks Surge to Weekly Gain on Rate Cuts; America Movil Advances

(Bloomberg) -- Brazil's main stock index rose for a
third day, heading for the biggest weekly gain in three months, on
speculation that faster interest rate cuts by the central bank will
lead to increased company profits and spur investment in stocks.

The Bovespa Index of the most-traded stocks on the Sao Paulo
exchange gained 869.33, or 1.6 percent, to 54,582.22 as of 1:18
p.m. New York time, led by Petroleo Brasileiro SA. The weekly gain
of 4.3 percent was the steepest since March 23. Mexico's Bolsa
index rose 0.7 percent to 32,341.09, eclipsing a June 5 record and
heading for a 2.8 percent weekly gain.

Brazil's Bovespa Rises to Record on Prospects for Rate Cuts, Led by Vale

(Bloomberg) -- Brazil's main stock index rose to a
record as the central bank signaled it may keep cutting interest
rates in half-percentage point increments this year.

The Bovespa Index of the most-traded stocks on the Sao Paulo
exchange rose 587.74, or 1.1 percent, to 53,581.47 as of 12:05 p.m.
New York time, beating the June 1 high. Cia. Vale do Rio Doce, the
world's biggest iron-ore producer, led the gains.

Bovespa Rebounds After Brazil Selloff, Led by Vale: World's Biggest Mover

(Bloomberg) -- Brazil's main stock index rose for the
first time in four days, led by mining company Cia. Vale do Rio
Doce, after share price declines earlier in the week alleviated
concern that stocks had become too expensive.

The Bovespa Index of the most-traded stocks on the Sao Paulo
exchange climbed 908.30, or 1.8 percent, to 51,438.95 at 3:18 p.m.
New York time, the biggest move among markets include in global
benchmarks. The index fell 3.6 percent the previous three days,
heading for its first weekly decline in a month.
