Dollar Rises Sixth Day Against Euro as Retail Sales in May Beat Forecast

(Bloomberg) -- The dollar rose for a sixth straight
day against the euro after a government report showed U.S.
retail sales rose last month more than economists forecast.

Traders increased bets the Federal Reserve will hold
interest rates steady later this year. The U.S. currency
strengthened yesterday as former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan
Greenspan predicted a decline in U.S. bonds, pushing benchmark
10-year Treasury yields to the highest since 2002.

JGB futures fall to 3-mth low, BOJ meeting in focus

(Reuters) - The benchmark 10-year yield climbed to a seven-week peak as the U.S. employment report on Friday boosted Treasury yields to their highest in over seven weeks.

U.S. government data showed 180,000 non-farm jobs were added in March, topping the consensus forecast of 120,000 and suggesting that economic growth may not be slowing as much as originally thought.

JGB futures hit three-month low as Nikkei rallies

(Reuters) - The 10-year yield rose 1.5 basis points to 1.670 percent, matching a one-month high hit last week.

TREASURIES-Bonds fall as data pushes back rate cut expectations

(Reuters) - Benchmark 10-year Treasury yields, which move inversely to prices, struggled through the morning to break through a key technical level at 4.65 percent, but eventually climbed to their highest in more than a month.

The move followed the release of a report showing business activity in the U.S. Midwest expanded in March at a very strong pace.
