Germany's DAX Index Falls, Led by Allianz, Deutsche Bank; IKB Plummets

(Bloomberg) -- Germany's benchmark DAX Index
declined for a fifth day, led by financial shares after IKB
Deutsche Industriebank AG, which invested in U.S. subprime
mortgages, cut its profit forecast.

Linde AG paced rising shares after reporting earnings that
beat analysts' estimates. Volkswagen AG gained after analysts
raised their price estimates on the stock.

German Stocks Decline, Led by Deutsche Bank, Allianz; Volkswagen Rises

(Bloomberg) -- Germany's benchmark DAX Index
dropped for a fourth day, paced by Deutsche Bank AG,
Commerzbank AG and Allianz SE, on mounting concern financing
difficulties may cloud the outlook for mergers and takeovers.

Volkswagen AG advanced after the carmaker's first-half
profit beat analysts' expectations. Siemens AG also climbed.

Germany's DAX Benchmark Index Rises; Deutsche Bank, Volkswagen Lead Gain

(Bloomberg) -- German stocks advanced for a third
day, paced by Deutsche Bank AG and Allianz SE. Volkswagen AG
climbed after the carmaker said it expects to boost sales in
China.

The DAX added 28.35, or 0.4 percent, to 8121.12 at 10:07
a.m. in Frankfurt. DAX futures expiring in September increased
0.3 percent to 8181. The HDAX Index of the country's 110 biggest
companies gained 0.4 percent.

Asia shares ease, oil eyes record high

(Reuters) - London's FTSE 100 Index and Germany's DAX rose about 0.2 percent in early trade while France's CAC 40 edged up nearly 0.1 percent.




Data on Friday showing improved U.S. consumer sentiment sparked optimism that shipments to Asia's top export market would stay strong, helping to limit regional stock losses and lending support to the dollar.

HeidelbergCement, Kloeckner, Deutsche Lufthansa: German Equity Preview

(Bloomberg) -- The following stocks may rise or
fall in German markets.

Germany's X-DAX Index was little changed at 8079.43. The
index provides an estimate of the DAX Index, based on trading in
DAX futures after the Xetra electronic market closes. The DAX
advanced 0.4 percent to 8077.39 on the Xetra electronic-trading
system.

German Stocks Increase, Led by ThyssenKrupp on Upgrade; BMW, Daimler Climb

(Bloomberg) -- Germany's benchmark DAX Index rose,
recovering some of yesterday's decline. ThyssenKrupp AG paced
gains after Goldman, Sachs & Co. recommended buying the stock.

Bayerische Motoren Werke AG climbed after the world's
largest maker of luxury cars said sales increased to a record
last month. Shares of DaimlerChrysler AG also increased.

Germany's DAX Index Slides; Allianz, Lufthansa, Deutsche Bank Slip

(Bloomberg) -- German stocks dropped, led by Allianz
SE, Deutsche Lufthansa AG and Deutsche Bank AG.

The benchmark DAX Index lost 65.91, or 0.8 percent, to
7941.41 as of 9:06 a.m. in Frankfurt. The HDAX Index of the
country's 110 biggest companies also fell 0.8 percent.

Asia stocks gain after days of U.S. pain

(Reuters) - European shares opened firmer on relief over U.S. stocks. Investors are gearing up for the Federal Reserve's decision on U.S. interest rates after the market close.




After 10 minutes of trading, London's FTSE 100 was up 0.5 percent, Germany's DAX gained 1 percent and France's CAC 40 added 0.8 percent.

(Bloomberg) -- The following stocks may rise or
fall in German markets.

Germany's X-DAX Index climbed 1.1 percent to 7865.38. The
index provides an estimate of the DAX Index, based on trading in

(Bloomberg) -- The following stocks may rise or fall
in German markets today. Stock symbols are in parentheses after
the company names and prices are from the Xetra close June 15
unless otherwise stated.

DAX futures expiring in September rose 21.50, or 0.3
percent, to 8129.50 at 8:18 a.m. in Frankfurt. Germany's
benchmark DAX jumped 181.48, or 2.3 percent, to 8030.64 on the
Xetra electronic-trading system.

Bayer, Cash.life, Daimler, Infineon, Merck KGaA: German Equity Preview

(Bloomberg) -- The following stocks may rise or fall
in German markets.

DAX futures expiring in June dropped 31, or 0.4 percent, to
7585 as of 8:19 a.m. in Frankfurt. The DAX sank 111.44, or 1.4
percent, to 7618.61 on the Xetra electronic-trading system
yesterday.

Germany's DAX Index Slides, led by BMW, Siemens; Premiere Shares Jump

(Bloomberg) -- Germany's benchmark DAX Index fell after yesterday touching its highest since September 2000. Bayerische Motoren Werke AG and Siemens AG led the decline.

Premiere AG jumped after Deutsche Bank AG raised its recommendation on the shares.

European stocks higher on M&A, upbeat Compass leads

(Reuters) - European shares rose on Thursday as M&A activity helped investors overcome worries about the U.S. economy, while Compass, the world's biggest caterer, led gainers after a strong trading statement.

At 0823 GMT, the FTSEurofirst 300 index was up 0.6 percent. Germany's DAX, France's CAC 40 and Britain's FTSE 100 gained between 0.6 and 0.7 percent.

European shares open firmer, Daimler in focus

European shares opened firmer after strong performance in Japanese shares, and amid a slew of corporate news, while U.S. and several Asian markets are closed Monday.

The pan-European FTSEurofirst index of 300 leading shares rose 0.18 percent by 0802 GMT to 1,546.77 points.

London's FTSE 100 was up 0.3 percent, the French CAC 40 rose 2 percent and Germany's DAX gained 0.4 percent.

DaimlerChrysler shares rose 3.2 percent on news it was in talks with General Motors over the future of its ailing U.S. unit Chrysler.

European stocks gain as oil inches up, G7 in focus

European share prices rose in early trade on Friday on the back of a string of corporate news and higher oil prices, while investors eyed the Group of Seven finance ministers meeting in Germany.

A 2.2-percent rise in DaimlerChrysler shares pushed up the DJ Stoxx European auto sector index after Citigroup upgraded the shares to a "buy" from a "hold".

The pan-European FTSEurofirst index of 300 leading shares rose 0.5 percent to 1,542.74 points by 0853 GMT.

London's FTSE 100 gained 0.7 percent and the French CAC 40 and Germany's DAX rose 0.6 percent
