Plane Crashes Force Indonesia to Add Inspectors, Radar as Carriers Expand

(Bloomberg) -- Adrianus Meliala was bound for
Yogyakarta airport in Indonesia on March 7 when he noticed that
the jetliner was approaching the runway too rapidly. He braced
for impact as the plane bounced, caught fire and skidded into a
rice field.

``It was all panic,'' said Meliala, 40, a father of three
who suffered a broken nose and minor burns. ``We were like
barbarians trying to get out. I jumped off the burning wing.''
