(Bloomberg) -- A joint Spanish and Portuguese
natural-gas market will be easier to implement than a combined
electricity market, due to start next month, because gas trading
in the two countries is almost free of price caps, according to a
Spanish government official.
The gas market project, called Mibgas, ``is easier than
Mibel because most regulated tariffs have already disappeared,''
Jorge Sanz, the director general at Spain's Ministry of Industry,
Tourism and Trade, said today at a conference in Monaco. He
didn't provide a timeframe for the project.
