(Reuters) - NEW YORK, July 9 - Health insurer WellPoint Inc.
said on Monday it plans to buy radiology benefits
company American Imaging Management for about $300 million to
better manage its coverage of MRIs, X-rays and other scans.
The No. 1 U.S. health insurer by membership said the deal
would help it control spending on radiology, which has grown
nationally to $100 billion in 2005 from $75 billion in 2000.
