Africa's biggest trade bloc calls for harmonisation

(Reuters) - Africa's myriad regional customs unions must be harmonised if the world's poorest continent is to compete on the world stage, its biggest trading bloc COMESA said on Tuesday.

Heads of state and delegates representing 20 countries and more than 400 million people are expected to endorse COMESA's plans to launch its own customs union in 2008 at the end of a two-day summit in Kenya.
